Yala peak (5732m) is a part of the Langtang Himal which is located in the central part of Nepal and falls under Langtang National Park. Langtang region is rich in bio-diversity and consists of various flora and fauna. Walking through the dense forest and traditional ethnic Tamang settlement, you reach the wonderful Kyanjing Gompa which lies just below the Lantang Lirung (7246m).
Yala Peak is a fantastic beginner's mountaineering trip suitable to anyone having trekking experience. Just to the north of Kathmandu in the Langtang region, this 5732 meters peak is situated in a beautiful valley of rich grazing pastures and indigenous Tamang people.
Yala Peak climbing is rewarded by stunning views of Lantang Lirung (7246m), Lenpo Gang 7083m), Dorje Lakpa (6990m) and mighty Shishapangma (8027m) on the Tibetan side. It is one of the easiest peaks to climb in Nepal. You will use rope, ice axes and crampon for the last 300-400 meters climbing after late autumn to early spring.
On your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be greeted with flower
garlands/Khadas. Our representative will then take you to your hotel. If time prevails,
you will visit office for paperwork. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Today, you will visit popular world heritage monuments in Kathmandu including
Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swoyambhunath, and Pashupatinath.
Alternatively, you can also choose Bhakatapur and Patan sightseeing. By late
afternoon, you will drive back to your hotel. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
After early morning breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to bus
station. Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi which takes about nine hours. You head
north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru
Besi passing through Dhunche. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Syabru Besi (1600m.) to Lama Hotel (2470m.) takes about five and
half hours. The first part of the trail crosses through Bhote Koshi and follows the
Langtang Khola. This trail gradually ascends up to Bamboo passing through landslide.
Thereafter, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m.) through Bamboo (1960m.)
which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3430m.) via Ghore Tabela takes
about six hours. As you continue climbing there are occasional glimpses of Langtang
Lirung between the trees. At Ghora Tabela [3000m], the trail emerges from the forest.
Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project here, but now it is a Nepalese army post
though it has no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the
valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their
livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. Stay overnight at
lodge.
Trek from Langtang Village to Kyangjin (3870m.) takes about three hours. The
trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out
further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and
moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. Here, there is a small monastery
and a government-operated cheese factory. You arrive at Kyangjin by lunch time
allowing time to acclimatize and explore the area. Stay overnight at lodge.
Rest day at Kyangjin Gompa and we do some excursions in and around the
area. This is a day to rest and explore the area. You can visit the monastery and the
cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling
glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m.), directly behind the village,
for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang peaks. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Kyangjin Gompa to Yala Base Camp takes about five hours.
The early part of the trail moves along the leveled path till Marku and then leaving
Langtang Khola you trek ascent path all the way to Yak Kharka. The views you can
enjoy until you reach Base Camp are of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang and others. Stay
overnight at camp.
Trek from Yala Base Camp to summit Yala peak (5732m.) and back to Yala
Base Camp. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Yala Base Camp to Kyangjin Gompa which takes about four hours.
You trek descent path all the way to Kyangjin Gompa. The views you can enjoy are of
Ganchenpo, Naya Kang and others. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2470m.) it takes about six hours.
From Kyangjin you retrace your route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village
and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch, you continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel.
Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi via Sherpa Gaon takes about five hours.
The upper part of the trail is more beautiful for the panoramic view of mountains and
green hill views. This path is broader and remains sunny through the different Sherpa
and Tamang villages. The first half part of the trail is gradually down and then the trail
does steeply descent to the Syabru Besi (1600m.). The main inhabitants belong to
Tamang community and they have adopted Tibetan lifestyle. Stay overnight at lodge.
Drive from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu by bus, takes about nine hours. You
drive through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Kathmandu. The first part of your
drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is through gravel and bumpy road and then well paved road
up to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
As per your flight schedule, our airport representative will transfer from your hotel to the
airport for your final departure.
